i.) Doctorate Degree in Natural or Agricultural Science or Master’s Degree in Engineering or Technology or Medicine from a recognized University or Institute;
ii.) Fifteen years’ experience in innovation or research or development or demonstration or design or construction in Industrial or Academic or Government Institutions or organisations out of which at least five years should be at senior level post in administering, planning, development or coordination of science and technology programmes in the areas related to new and renewable sources of energy.
i.) Experience of handling national and international programmes with special reference to New & Renewable Sources of Energy, which should cover innovation or research and development or management or assessment or application or extension or research and development including field assignment of original nature in the field of new and renewable energy at scientific or technical laboratories, institutes, industries, universities or associations;
ii.) Knowledge about overall perspective of National Energy Problems and Policies and should be able to direct large scale coordinated and integrated programmes.
2. The period of deputation including period of deputation in another excadre post held immediately preceding this appointment in same or some other organization or department of the Central Government shall not ordinarily exceed three years, which may be extended on year to year basis, subject to a maximum of 5 years with approval of the competent authority.
3. Departmental Officers working in the direct line of in-situ promotion under FCS, shall not be eligible for being considered for deputation. Similarly deputationists shall not eligible to be considered for promotion
